A full-time minimum wage worker earns just $314 a week before taxes, or just over $16,000 a year. That’s not enough to raise a family or meet basic needs. Proposition B has the potential to raise the wages of over 677,000 Missouri workers by 2023, impacting over 260,000 children.
If we raise Missouri’s minimum wage to $12 an hour by 2023, over 100,000 Missouri seniors and near retirees will see a wage increase. These hardworking Missourians have been working longer than some of us have been on this earth! They deserve a wage that can cover the basic costs of living.
Proposition B will strengthen our Missouri families by making sure parents earn enough to care for kids and put them on a path for a great future.
